Goodbye, Summer

Ah, sad days! It’s sunny here today, of course, but rain will be all over us here in Vancouver, soon. We went camping a few weekends ago in Squamish for one last hurrah (and we could have campfires, so thanks for that, rain!). I’m sad to see it go, and still clinging to my tank tops, but it’s been such a fun summer! I'm still kind of processing everything: I just went through the photos from our trip to Europe, and since we got back, it’s been non-stop, trying to get the old car up and running so we can camp, camp, camp. And camp, we have! Hammocks, and all. Kind of a whirlwind.

Just a peek at one of our getaways, on film. I kind of in an impromptu way took the summer ‘off’ and it’s been nice—not really off, I guess, I’ve been working in animation since we got back from Europe, but it feels like a break. A break from design homework. A break from wondering what I will do next. Ahh. I needed a break so badly! Now that it’s into September, though, I’m setting my sights back on finishing my portfolio up and wondering what is to come for me—so, of course, I was up all hours of the week trying to send my portfolio to print. lol. Feast or famine, for me. All or nothing, always. I got it done! I’m trying to submit it to my dream internship, you see. Which is crazy stressful and scary, in itself. Be confident, right? Anyway, it was so satisfying to drop it at the printers this week, delirious from little sleep and happy that it was finished in time. lol. I have a few more things to do for the application this week, and then something I’ve always wanted to try for will be off my dream 'to-do’ list—eek!

Anyhoo, I have lots of pictures I want to share from the summer, but film takes a while to develop—and it takes me even longer to gather my thoughts. Soon, soon. Until then, friends...and goodbye, summer. I’ll be counting down the days until you’re here, again! I’m already trying to figure out how/where to get away for a break, next: I have Kauai set in my sights...our tent definitely didn’t get out enough this year!
